Psycho-Pass came out today and I decided to do an unboxing video and talk about what I hope to accomplish here on Approach Phase. To the guys over at Plus 2 Soul who had their boxes delayed, my condolences. I hope that import problem you’re having gets resolved because I’m looking forward to hearing your thoughts on Psycho-Pass as well.
Have you actually /read/ Fate-zero? Because I do not find the original light novels of Fate/zero inferior to Madoka. Madoka was just blessed with some incredible staff that pushed the show’s potential through the roof. The Fate/zero adaptation, on the other hand, has, uh, little to do with the original. I blame Aoki Ei for this, as he’s the director, though I cannot fathom how he could mess up the script so bad and turn it into a sfx circus after his great work on Hourou Musuko, which was a character-driven story like the Fate/zero novels are. Oh well.
I tend not to read that much fiction anymore. I have read the original Fate/Stay Night visual novel and found it to be alright, but Type-Moon and I have a lukewarm relationship. I’ve not read the Fate/Zero light novel, but from what I’ve seen the Fate franchise has gotten too inflated and full of itself. That’s one of the reasons I’m looking forward to Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya, which has nothing to do established canon (hopefully).
I’ve read Fate/Stay but found it average. I found Urobuchi’s prequel much more absorbing. I think it just didn’t get the best adaptation.
