Friday Cards of the Day

Love, Elections and Chocolate
Precious Memories - Love, Elections and Chocolate - Ai Sarue & Kii Monzennaka Ai Sarue & Kii Monzennaka (01-070)

Cost: 4 Source: 2 AP: 40 DP: 30

(Combo) (Active)
If you have 4 or more other characters that share a name with this card, all of your characters named 「Ai Sarue」 and 「Kii Monzennaka」 get +10/+10.

Type(s): Swimsuit

Thoughts and comments
I changed the wording on this card from the Japanese a little to make the meaning of its ability clearer. Obviously this is going to be the centerpiece of an Ai Sarue and Kii Monzennaka deck, but it’s usefulness depends on how difficult it’s going to be to achieve the necessary four other characters for it to go into effect.

Card of the Day

Love, Elections and Chocolate
Precious Memories - Love, Elections and Chocolate - Isara Aomi Isara Aomi (01-076)

Cost: 1 Source: 2 AP: 30 DP: 30

When this card or a card with the same name or type approaches or blocks, you may either give one of your characters (Active) until end of turn or turn 1 of your opponent’s point cards face down.

Type(s): Swimsuit

Thoughts and comments
Getting characters to attack the turn they’re played and taking away your opponent’s resources to play more cards are both very strong abilities and seeing them both on a 1 cost 30/30 makes me nervous to play against an Aomi deck.

Card of the Day

Koi to Senkyo to Chocolate
Precious Memories - Koi to Senkyo to Chocolate - Michiru Morishita Michiru Morishita (01-054)

Cost: 4 Source: 2 AP: 20 DP: 20

When this card approaches, it cannot be blocked by a character with a combined AP and DP that is less than or equal to the sum of this character’s AP and DP.

Type(s): Swimsuit

Thoughts and comments
This card is for punishing decks that only play with big characters. I’m not sure this card is always going to be unblockable because I often play with small sacrificial chump blockers and that cost of 4 makes me hesitate. There’s a lot of 30/10 characters throughout all titles with useful abilities and once someone sees this character hit the table, they’re going to put out an appropriate blocker on their next turn. Why make your character bigger to survive when you can make it bigger to just be unblockable? Very powerful ability. I might try using this in my swimsuit deck.

Card of the Day

Koi to Senkyo to Chocolate
Precious Memories - Koi to Senkyo to Chocolate - Satsuki Shinonome Satsuki Shinonome (01-064)

Cost: 4 Source: 2 AP: 30 DP: 40

When you play this card, you may put up to 2 cost 2 or lower <Kimono> 『Koi to Senkyo to Chocolate』 characters from your trash to the play area resting.

Type(s): Kimono

Thoughts and comments
The KoiChoco spoiler so far has revealed three other <Kimono> characters that I’m aware of and they all have abilities that put them into your trash as part of the cost to activate them. Looks like this is the card that helps make <Kimono> a viable deck for this title.

Card of the Day

Koi to Senkyo to Chocolate
Precious Memories - Koi to Senkyo to Chocolate - Chisato Sumiyoshi Chisato Sumiyoshi (01-004)

Cost: 2 Source: 2 AP: 30 DP: 10

During this card’s approach, if this card and one of your opponent’s characters leaves the play area, return this card from your trash to your hand.

Each time one of your characters leaves the play area, this card gains (Active) and +20/+20 until end of turn.

Type(s): School Uniform

Thoughts and comments
There’s a lot going on here. KoiChoco seems to be a title with decent ability to draw cards, so getting a lot of characters on the table shouldn’t be too hard, but having to lose characters to make this card profitable seems wasteful to me. There’s some nice defense cards in KoiChoco as well, but this is just such an original setup that I can’t call this card without seeing the rest of the set.

Friday Cards of the Day

Koi to Senkyo to Chocolate
Precious Memories - Koi to Senkyo to Chocolate - Mifuyu Kiba Mifuyu Kiba (01-027)

Cost: 2 Source: 1 AP: 0 DP: 10

This card gets +10/+10 for each card named 「Mifuyu Kiba」 in your point pile.

Each time a card gets put into your point pile, you may either ready this card or give it +20/+20 until end of turn.

Type(s): School Uniform

Thoughts and comments
This combos great with other Mifuyu Kiba abilities and shouldn’t be hard to take advantage of. This card is going to be super-big, but being big isn’t all it’s cracked up to be when there’s no incentive for your opponent to simply chump block or let this card go through for damage.

Card of the Day

Koi to Senkyo to Chocolate
Precious Memories - Koi to Senkyo to Chocolate - Isara Aomi Isara Aomi (01-077)

Cost: 4 Source: 2 AP: 30 DP: 30

When you play this card, look at the top 5 cards of your deck. You may choose a character from among them with the same name as this card and reveal it. Put it onto the play area or into your hand. Put the other cards on the bottom of your deck.

Type(s): School Uniform

Thoughts and comments
This would be a pretty standard ability except that I don’t know of any cards that let you choose to put a card from the top of your deck onto the play area OR into your hand (usually just one or the other). I think you’re typically going to want to put it onto the play area, but it’s a nice option to be able to take it into your hand as source. Or alternatively, alternatively if the revealed card has a “when you play this card,” ability, it won’t trigger when it’s put onto the play area by Aomi’s ability so there’s an added layer of flexibility.

Card of the Day

Koi to Senkyo to Chocolate
Precious Memories - Koi to Senkyo to Chocolate - Hazuki Shinonome Hazuki Shinonome (01-009)

Cost: 4 Source: 2 AP: 30 DP: 30

[Main/Own]: {0} Choose 1 of your opponent’s characters. Then choose 1 of your characters named 「Hazuki Shinonome」. Until end of turn, your character gets +X/+Y where X is the other character’s AP and Y is the other character’s DP. This turn, when the chosen character blocks one of your characters named 「Hazuki Shinonome」, put the blocking character on the bottom of its owner’s deck.

Type(s): Swimsuit / Teacher

Thoughts and comments
Nothing to complain about here. You can match the strength of your opponent’s strongest character and then if your opponent blocks with that character, your Hazuki Shinonome stays on the board because the blocker is put on the bottom of your opponent’s deck before it can deal damage. This ability could be moot if your opponent has two characters of equal AP/DP, but the bottom line is you’re still going to have a big attacker. An attacker that gets +30/+30 on your opponent’s biggest character is likely going to be unstoppably big, but the second part of this ability gives you some leeway with your choice of blockers. Some decks thrive on getting cards back from the trash, which is what this card prevents, but other decks are capable of searching the deck for specific cards (Natsuiro Kiseki most notably) and can lead to interesting choices for both attacker and defender.

Card of the Day

Koi to Senkyo to Chocolate
Precious Memories - Koi to Senkyo to Chocolate - Mifuyu Kiba Mifuyu Kiba (01-031)

Cost: 4 Source: 2 AP: 20 DP: 50

When this card approaches, its AP becomes 50 until end of turn.

When one of your characters named 「Mifuyu Kiba」 blocks, reset the DP of one of your opponent’s characters.

Type(s): (none)

Thoughts and comments
At 50/50, this is a great attacker and the second ability allows for some decent defense. It’s not always going to be very useful because it only resets DP, which means any AP boosts will still be able to take out your blocker, but you can definitely force a trade in your favor if you play it right.

Card of the Day

Koi to Senkyo to Chocolate
Precious Memories - Koi to Senkyo to Chocolate - Chisato Sumiyoshi Chisato Sumiyoshi (01-034)

Cost: 2 Source: 2 AP: 0 DP: 0

For each of your <Maid> 『Koi to Senkyo to Chocolate』 characters, this card gets +10/+10.

When one of your <Maid> characters approaches and deals damage to your opponent, you may move a <Maid> character from your support area to your main area.

Type(s): Maid

Thoughts and comments
I now see why you’d want to play some of KoiChoco‘s other <Maid> characters in your support area. The anime had five main girls who will probably all get <Maid> cards, so that’s a potential for these maids to be 50/50, but I wonder if any of the side characters are going to get some <Maid> cards to boost these even bigger…my instincts say probably not.
